The river and creekside trails in and around our home in Coquitlam offer up an awesome array of critters that inspire and delight anyone who would venture out for a few hours in a natural wonderland.

This Pygmy Owl was spotted at the entrance of Deboville Slough in the spring of 2016 and he stayed for photographers for many days.

Eagles seem to be everywhere and are a common occurrence on an outing.

We sometimes see bears in trees, big ones and small ones.  As well it is not strange to see a mother bear and a cub or two in the tree with her.  These bears are
looking for berries to fill in on lean times.

This hawk has just caught a songbird in the blueberry fields and is about to have a snack.

A Robin prepares to make a nest.

Healthy frogs = healthy environment.

Okay, this Llama is not native to this area but is a local resident on a nearby farm.

A Turkey Vulture can smell a meal 20 miles away.

A Green Heron is a rare sight here but you can find one with patience.
